2019 McClelland & Distinguished Alumnus Lecturers Announced

Parkland Surgical Society Program Chair Valerie Gorman, MD has announced that A. Marilyn Leitch, MD will deliver the Robert N. McClelland lecture, and David Provost, MD ’94 will deliver the Distinguished Alumnus lecture at the 2019 Annual Meeting August 2-3 in Dallas.

A. Marilyn Leitch, MD, is a national authority on breast cancer. During her career, she has helped thousands of patients successfully triumph over this disease, and she has been at the forefront of research that has led to groundbreaking advancements and new standards of care for breast cancer.

David A. Provost, MD

David A. Provost, MD

David A. Provost, MD has practiced bariatric surgery for over 20 years, performing the first laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in Texas in April 1999. He is chief of the section of bariatric and general surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple in Temple, TX. Dr. Provost is active in surgeon education and training in laparoscopic gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and revisions and complications.
